| Project SHARE programs provide residents of Niagara Falls who are living below the poverty line with basic needs. Our programs are designed to create positive, proactive alternatives to allow people to help themselves and their families with dignity in times of crisis.
Food Bank We provide emergency food once a month to families who are living below the poverty line in Niagara Falls as defined by Statistics Canada.
Savoury Sampling As part of our healthy nutrition program, we offer sampling of nutritious foods once per week and provide our clients with the ingredients and simple recipe to prepare the food at home. Items we have sampled include banana bread, hummus and green bean caserole. For more information on Savoury Sampling contact Sarah at 905-357-5121 ext 31.
Utility Subsidy Program We provide assistance to Niagara Falls residents living on or below the poverty line who are in threat of having their heat, water, oil or gas utilities disconnected
Transportation We assist with transportation to out of town emergency medical appointments. Families can receive local transit tickets from Project SHARE to return home after accessing service.
Niagara Transit also offers a free shuttle service with set stops throughout Niagara Falls to pick people up and bring them to Project SHARE.
Prescriptions We provide funding to assist clients with emergency prescriptions (antibiotics) once per year.
Clothing Referral We partner with Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Niagara Falls and Goodwill Industries to provide our clients with clothing necessities free of charge.
Jumpstart We submit Jumpstart applications on behalf of our clients for financial assistance for youth recreational activities.
Community Garden We grow fruits & vegetables for our Emergency Food Program at our Community Garden at Our Lady of Scapular Church, and provide plots for clients to grow their own produce.
Christmas Program We support over 4,800 people at Christmas with food and gifts for children 17 years old and under.
