Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are an integral part of our organization. They are the heart of the Project SHARE performing many essential tasks. Our core group of volunteers give their time to assist families in need that receive emergency food. These volunteers provide a friendly welcome and help to make families feel comfortable when visiting Project SHARE. Warehouse volunteers provide muscle power and are detailed when sorting through donated food, check for expiry dates and dented canned food items that cannot be used within the Food Bank.

Project S.H.A.R.E Volunteers

Volunteers also have other opportunities to get involved by helping at events such as our annual food drives, parades and an assortment of other community events . After business hours and weekend opportunities are available occasionally throughout the year.

Co-op student placements are available at Project SHARE, but are limited to 2 students per semester. Administrative and warehouse positions are available. Some administrative duties can include photo copying, data entry, creative design and assisting with events. Warehouse duties would include sorting food, janitorial duties, lifting and recycling. Co-op opportunities are offered through an interview process with our Volunteer Coordinator and the Co-op School Administrator.
